Update on Rufus

Just wanted to give everyone an update on Rufus. In case you do not know Rufus, you can go here or here . I took Rufus to the vet Saturday for his shots and to get him checked out since we did not know anything about him. The vet told us Rufus was a full bloodied Lab that had been abused. He said his jaw had been broken at one time and healed back crooked. I had never noticed it and he can eat anything you put in front of him. Rufus did cower done when my DH came around him but I just thought he did not know him well. The vets said the way he was acting showed that he had been abused by a man. I just can not believe someone could do that to an innocent puppy. Rufus is a big puppy but the vet said he was only about 3 to 4 months old. Rufus is going to be a big dog.

Rufus is very happy now. Brookster gets out and runs with him everyday. He is still a puppy and getting into puppy things. He took the cushions off my outside chair today and made a bed for himself. He brings me presents to the door as well, today he brought me: a plastic shovel, charcoal lighter, a ball and a rock. He loves me and wants me to have presents. He is so sweet. I am glad we decided to keep him even though when I tears things up I begin to wonder...........

I will keep you posted on the newest addition to the family.

  1. Aww thats horrible , im glad to hear that he is in a good home now ! He sure is cute !

  2. thank goodness your family was there to give him a loving home!!!

one of ours dogs was abused before we got him, it is just sick what people do *ggrrrrr*

  3. Aww he sounds like a great pup that has found the right home. Sounds like hubby needs to shower him with lots of love and he'll learn that not all people are crap.

  4. Aww poor little guy! He is so lucky to have found such a living home. He sounds like such a sweetie, hopefully he will learn the ropes quickly and settle down a bit =)
