I hope that everyone has a wonderful 2010. I look forward to what the new year brings my family. I am working on goals for the blog and some great giveaways for the new year. Right now lets just enjoy watching the old new year out and the new one in.
I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. When I received the latest one in the mail it made me smile. We have been having a hard time with money and some health issues. This has been getting us down some so when this book came in it reminded me that we need to Count Our Blessings. As always this book has the 101 stories of Gratitude, Fortitude and Silver Linings.
My favorite story is Homeward Bound written by Kathleen Norris. Kathleen and her family had been through a lot her husband was going on disability. They were having to sell their house and that was hard for her. At the end of the story her house sold and they found a new house they liked. The statement at the end that I just love is where Karen states "Home is where the heart is"
This was very important to me since we have talked about moving out this house and moving in with my Mom due to the health bills, and the huge truck bill. I think we have it worked out now and will be able to stay in our house. That statement however helped me to be at peace with what ever decision has to be made,

I will be the first to admit that I have no idea how to change the oil in my car and very rarely take the car in for someone else to change the oil. That is Golferdad's job. I was really excited when MyBlogSpark gave the opportunity to have a $35 Gift Card to Jiffy Lube provided by Shell Lubricants and MotorOilMatters
Like I have said before, I did not think I knew that much about oil changes and what was involved. I liked the site MotorOilMatters They have a Tips and advice section that I found very helpful. It answers questions such as Does it matter if I change my oil regularly?, What happens to oil during the time it is in the engine, How often should I change my oil and many more questions. There is even an interactive quiz that test your knowledge. I surprised myself by making an 81% on the test.
Shell Lubricants and MotorOilMatters.org have agreed to give one lucky reader a $35 Gift Card to Jiffy Lube.

Christmas is over and I had a wonderful time. I enjoyed getting together with the family. I loved when I asked Golfergirl what her favorite part of the Christmas holiday was: She stated being with my family and celebrating Jesus being born. That made me so happy that she now understands what Christmas is all about. That made my Christmas.
Hope everyone had a wonderful time with their loved ones. I for one can not wait to see what 2010 has in store for our family.
I went to get something out of the freezer yesterday and this was what I found: Golfergirl had saved the first snowball of winter. We live in Middle Tennessee and do not get a lot of snow so she was excited when we got some this week. I asked her why she had placed them in the freezer. She said in case we did not get any more snow she would have these snowballs. In case someone is wondering they are still in the freezer. Who am I to be the one to throw away the first snowball of the winter.
We go to church on Christmas Eve,then come home read the Twas The Night Before Christmas and hang the stocking up on the fireplace. tamben7996(at)aol(dot)com
Golfergirl absolutely loves her Nintendo DS and I like it as well. She takes it on long car trips and that helps with the "Are We There Yet". I am very careful about which games she plays however and of course I would like her to play games like bingo at littlewoodsbingo. Yes, I am that overprotective mother that knows what games her daughter is playing but I do not think that is such a bad thing. I was thrilled when UBISOFT offered to let us review the new game Imagine Zookeeper.
Game Information
With Imagine® Zookeeper, young girls can take care of animal inhabitants in their very own wildlife preserve! Explore the grounds and take inventory of the different species, care for injured animals, and protect the preserve from poachers and pollution!
Key Features Run a Wildlife Reserve —Players can build their own animal preserve while caring for its inhabitants and lead visitors on a fun tour of the park. Exploration and Knowledge —Explore the preserve and inventory the different species as their individual needs. Girls can even take photographs to document the growth of baby animals! Rescue —Rescue injured animals and nurse them back to health at the preserve headquarters. Preserve the Territory —Prevent poachers from entering the preserve and learn to fight pollution to keep the park safe for all animals in Imagine Zookeeper.
Golfergirls Response:
I decided to ask Golfergirl some questions about the game to see how she liked it.
What do you like best about this game?
"I love the baby kolas and feeding it with a bottle. It was neat rescuing it and then feeding it"
What do you not like about the game?
" I like everything about the game. I do not like that poachers are trying to take my animals but that is just part of the game, I guess.
If there was one thing you would change about the game what would it be?
The Missions
What about the Missions would you change?
To make it not so hard to find the animals when I am trying to take the Safari photo's. It is hard to find all of the animals in the little time they give.
If there was something you could add to the game, what would it be?
To drive the jeep in where the cages are to see the animals.
Would you recommend this game to a friend?
Yes
Golfersmom thoughts on the game
I liked the way Golfergirl was so into this game. She talked about it while she was playing. It taught her how to set up her own animal reserve and to care for the animals. The one thing that she learned about that she did not know was about poachers trying to take her animals. They polluted the rivers and she had to clean it up. She asked what a poacher was, so we had the discussion of that. We looked up somethings online about them so would understand that poachers exist in real life not just on her game. I really like this game because it has taught her a lot about the reserves and what goes into taking care of one. I would recommend this game to anyone with a little girl that loves animals.

Thank you Ubisoft for giving us this game to review
