County Bob's BBQ Sauce

About County Bob's( from the website) In 1968, County Bob perfected the sauce of his dreams. He began to sell it to family and friends in 1977. It was not until 1982 when County Bob's became what we know it today. A corporation was formed and they began to sell the product from their home office in Illinois.

The Review
We love meat in our family. Golfersdad does not really think he has had a good meal unless some type of meat was served. He is also very picky about the types of sauces that are used. I decided to be a little sneaky and not tell him about the opportunity to try County Bob's All Purpose Sauce.
I was not sure what I was going to use the sauce on, until I went to the store and found some Country Styled Ribs. I looked on County Bobs website where they have recipes I found on that I decided on using.





Slow Cooker Barbeque Ribs

Ingredients
4lbs pork ribs
3 cups County Bob's All Purpose Sauce
1 Cup Chili Sauce
1/2 Cup packed brown sugar
4TBSP Vinegar
2 TSP Oregano
1 dash hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste

How to make
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season ribs with salt and pepper, place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in over 15 minutes. Turn and brown the other side 15 minutes. Drain the Fat. Mix together in a bowl the County Bob All Purpose Sauce, Chili Sauce, Brown Sugar, Vinegar, Oregano, hot sauce, and salt/pepper. Pour over ribs and cook 45 more minutes at 350 degrees or until done.

I cooked these over my Mom's house and forgot to bring the camera but these were so good.
Golferdad did not ask what kind of sauce I used, he just said it was great. They were tender and juicy falling apart when I got them out of the oven. Usually our outside dog gets the leftovers from supper. The night I cooked these there were no leftovers. (Poor Snoopy LOL).

I would recommend the sauce to friends and family.

POM Wonderful Review

I was sent some Pomegranate juice from POM Wonderful to try. I have to admit I have never tried a Pomegranate so I was little skeptical if I would like the juice.

About the product: POM Wonderful has great health benefits such as Antioxidants. There have been several Scientific Studies showing that POM Wonderful has helped Cardiovascular problems such as Blood Pressure and Diabetes Type II among others that can be found on the Scientific Studies page on the web site.





The Review: I was very surprised that I really liked the taste of the juice. Golfergirl however did not like the taste. She said it tasted "weird". Not sure what that means to a nine year old. I liked the health benefits that POM Wonderful has, so I really wanted to find a way for Golfergirl to still get the benefits. I was very happy that the POM Wonderful website has some wonderful recipes that use the juice.

Golfergirl loves smoothies so I decided to make the POM Morning Shake for her. I was a little sneaky since she did not know I was going to use the pomegranate juice.

Ingredients:
1 Cup POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
3/4 Cup Low-Fat milk
2 Ice Cubes
1 Large banana peeled broken into chunks
2 Tablespoons sliced almonds (left these out of Golfergirls)
2 Tablespoons protein powder(optional) (left out of Golfergirls)
1 Teaspoon honey or to taste.

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.

Golfergirls reaction:
She loved it and wanted more. When I told her it had the juice in it she just gave me one of her "Mommy you got me looks" and kept drinking.

Golfermom's reaction:
I liked it both by itself and in the smoothie. I have to say the smoothie was delicious. I am going to try to some more of the recipes.

What is a review blogger to do without??????

A mailbox. We had a dusting of snow yesterday but we are know around here for not being able to drive in even a little bit of snow. Some guy came by yesterday and spun out in front of my house and took the mailbox out in the spin. I am glad he was not hurt. The truck has some damage but he is fine. I am upset because I get so many review items that I do not know what to do. I talked to the mailman today and he brought the mail to the house today but can not do that everyday. The ground is frozen solid so Golferdad is going to try to dig a hole tomorrow.

Hopefully he will be able to get the hole dug tomorrow so by Monday I will have the mailbox back.

What does the Weather Man Know!!!!!

The weather man here in Northern Tennessee have been calling for 3-4 inches of snow for about a week now. They said last night when we woke up we would have at least 3 inches of snow. When we woke up this morning we had this:Not quite the 3 inches that was expected but enough for Golfergirl to have a snow day. The weather men around here never get it right. I get more scared when they say we are not going to get a lot of snow. That is usually when we get the 3 inches. LOL!! Oh, well Golfergirl is enjoying her day off. She will probably be off again tomorrow too since it does not look like the roads are melting very much. She is having a blast. It is hard to keep her inside today. Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday Matching Rings

A friend of mine gave me and Golfergirl matching rings for Christmas. She was thinking it was going to be a funny joke but Golfergirl was so excited. We had to wear them to church. We have always put our fists together and said mommy power. Now she wants to but the rings together and say Mommy Power. She needs to say Mommy Power when she gets scared or nervous.
