Gala Glass has a wide variety of selections from Glass Jewelry, Glass Ornaments, Glass Wine Stoppers. They have something for everyone.

Review:
I was a little scared to be receiving a glass necklace in the mail. I was very pleased when I got the necklace in the mail. Golfergirl loved the necklace and wanted to take it away from me. I told her she needed to wait a couple of years. She is only 8.

I wore the necklace to her Brownie meeting the other night and all of the mothers just loved it. They could not believe that I received it in the mail. I could not find anything wrong with necklace. I love it.

Been kinda stressed lately

This has been a very stressful couple of weeks. See DH came in a couple of weeks ago and announced that his division of the company he worked for has been bought out. Ok, stress level went way off the chart. I am currently being a SAHM and loving it but we can not be without any income. I asked what now? DH says that there are a few places that have said they wanted to interview employees from his company. Then the waiting started. They old company was just using them for a week to help clean everything out. He was interviewed by a couple of companies.

While we were waiting to see what was going to happen, I was stressing about what was going to happen. I was already figuring out what we could cut out to save money. DH said I was thinking negatively. I saw it as trying to plan for the worse and hope for the best.

I did not like how the old company handled everything. I however have worked in State Government where it is hard to get rid of anyone. They just came in one day and said they would be out of a job within a week.

DH was very confident that he would have another job. I was thinking about the high unemployment rate, the recession and I also did not know anything about the other companies that he was interviewing for. Then we found out that the company that bought out his old company was going to take 3 of the 7 people who worked for the old company.

After a lot of stress and prayers, DH was offered the job with the new company. He started this week. He however now has to work nights which is a change for us. Golfergirl did not like the change very much but she does not understand the job market. She just wants her Daddy. That has been some adjustment but after a week of the new job we have settled in.

I am thankful that he got a job. I am sorry for the 4 employees that did not get a job. They got a severance package of two weeks pay. In today's hard times we are thankful that I can still be a SAHM mom and DH has a good job. Even if his schedule is a lot different. We will adjust.

As long as we are together as a family we will be just fine.

Chicken Soup for the Soul- Tough Times, Tough People Review/Giveaway

History of Chicken Soup for the Soul:

Internationally known speakers Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield knew the power of a good story long before Chicken Soup for the Soul was published. Each had built their speaking careers by telling inspirational, motivational and uplifting stories that their audiences could use to discover, experience and retain key concepts and approaches. After years of continuous audience requests that they put their stories into book form, Hansen & Canfield finally agreed. Rather than focusing only on their stories, they decided to reach out to others and seek contributions of powerful tales of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. After rounding up the 101 most inspirational submissions, they were left with an untitled book they both knew had the potential to make quite an impact.

My thoughts:

I have always loved the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series The stories are always uplifting and some are very inspiring. When I was given the chance to be on the review team for this series I was very happy. The book that was sent this month is Tough Times, Tough People

About the book:

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People will encourage, inspire, and support you through all types of difficult situations, whether financial, health-related, family or personal issues. Read 101 personal stories from real people about meeting challenges:

downsizing and enjoying a simpler life
finding the sliver lining in layoffs and other economic troubles
living with illness and disability
surviving natural disasters
grief and healing
the value of family and friends.
and 10 bonus stories about using faith to pull us through.

Blog Hop- 3 things you did not know about me.

It is time for the blog hop again this week. This week we are to tell 3 things that you do not know about me.

1. I used to have a gambling license. I could take bets on horse races. I went to college in Kentucky and horse racing is tops there, so that was my job during college. Pays really well.

2. I love to watch Big Brother every summer. I love that show. I am so glad that the show is back on this summer.

3. Golfergirl was 6 and 1/2 weeks premature and we were in separate hospitals for 7 days. That was so hard. I am working on a separate post about this one.

I can't wait to read everyone else's posts to learn something new about them as well.

Quotable Sunday- Patriotic

It is time for Quotable Sunday over at A Daily Dose of Toni. Since yesterday was the 4th I decided to do patriotic quotes.

I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. ~Abraham Lincoln

America is a tune. It must be sung together. ~Gerald Stanley Lee, Crowds

When an American says that he loves his country, he means not only that he loves the New England hills, the prairies glistening in the sun, the wide and rising plains, the great mountains, and the sea. He means that he loves an inner air, an inner light in which freedom lives and in which a man can draw the breath of self-respect. ~Adlai Stevenson

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend. Go on over to Toni's to join in the fun of Quotable Sunday's.
