Quotable Sunday- Patriotic

It is time for Quotable Sunday over at A Daily Dose of Toni. Since yesterday was the 4th I decided to do patriotic quotes.

I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. ~Abraham Lincoln

America is a tune. It must be sung together. ~Gerald Stanley Lee, Crowds

When an American says that he loves his country, he means not only that he loves the New England hills, the prairies glistening in the sun, the wide and rising plains, the great mountains, and the sea. He means that he loves an inner air, an inner light in which freedom lives and in which a man can draw the breath of self-respect. ~Adlai Stevenson

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend. Go on over to Toni's to join in the fun of Quotable Sunday's.

  1. I tend to think of myself as partiotic also. I loved the fireworks last night. We were at a friends house who lives near a huge park. We were able to watch right from her backyard.

  2. How have I never heard that Abraham Lincoln quote? That is great.

  3. Lee Greenwood -- is my favorite.
Thanks for sharing -- loved your quotes.

  4. Great quotes! Thanks for sharing!
