Sping Break

Brookster is on spring break this week and she has plans for every day this week. She said this was the first time that I have been home for h er spring break and she wanted to enjoy it. I plan on blogging about our adventures. Since I have not been released from the Dr I will not be going any where but there is so much we can do at home. Tonight we are going to start growing our crystal garden. I will keep you posted on how that goes. I am not sure how this is going to work since I am not very good with the Science thing and all, but for Brookster I am willing to try.
Hopefully I do not blow up the house. If you see something on the news about someone blowing up the house doing a kids science project that will be me. Off to start the growing process........

Children's Book give away

I loved it when I used to read books to Haley. She can now read all by herself. Thanks to BzzAgent and Claritin, I have a children's book to give away. "Casey and the School Day Sneezes" We have allergies in our house very badly. Brookster is allergic to so much bless her heart. She really related to the book becasuse she said it Casey was like her.

The story is about a little girl that sneezes all the time and does not know why. Casey gets upset because she can not do things other kids in her class can like pet the bunny. I really like this book as a why to explain allergies to your child. I also like this book because some the drawings are done by children.
I love anything that kids worked on as well.

If you would like to win this book for your child please leave an entry below telling about an allergy story from your family.

Guitartrump

I am always amazed at how Brooksters mind works. I know her mind does not work the way mine did at her age. I was all into playing outside, chasing boys and playing. I did not like school. Brookster loves school and loves to learn new things. She is always working on something trying to figure it out. She is the type of kid that wants to take things apart in order to try to put it back together again. She also loves music. Even before she was born, when ever I played music she would move around. I could calm her down after she was born by singing. It should have not been surprised when she took her trumpet and some rubber bands in her room the other night. She returned a few minutes later with a new invention. The Guitartrump.

When you place the mouth piece to your ear and strum the rubber bands it sounds like a guitar, so as the name Guitartrump. She informed me that when she got bigger she was going to pay someone to make the Guitartrump and we would be rich. I asked her what she would do with all the money she was going to make. She said oh invent something else. Who knows one day you may see Guitartump on the shelves at Target or Toys R Us. When you see it just remember that little Brookster was the inventor of the new instrument.

My First Giveaway SafteyCaps

Everyone wants their kids to be safe. When I found out that I was pregnant with Brookster, one of the first things I thought about was baby proofing not only my house but the grandparent’s house (I knew Mom was going to be the babysitter). We bought those plug covers in order to protect Brookster from the electrical outlet. I never thought that the outlet covers could actually be dangerous. Neither did George DeCell. His daughter Sage choked on one of those plug covers. George knew he needed to do something, so he created SafteyCaps.
When I received the safety caps in the mail, I compared them to the plugs I still have in the outlets. It was clear that the safety caps are a better product. George created them in the shape of a pacifier with the safety holes that are required on pacifiers.

They are clear, so they blend into most outlet covers. A real big plus for me is they are made in the USA, Vermont. George tried to petition the Consumer Product Safety Commission twice in order to try to get the outlet plugs regulated. They told him that since no children have died from this they are not willing to regulate these devices. It is hard for me to believe that some child has to die in order to have something regulated. I guess I am more proactive, save something devastating from happening instead of having the devastation happen then regulate the items. George is trying hard to get the word out about this issue. He wants all bloggers to contact The Ellen Show and Oprah to recommened Safety Caps and the need for regulation. I have emailed the The Ellen Show and Oprah with a recommendation of SafteyCaps. If enough people respond maybe they will listen. It is amazing what a group of parents can do when they get together for a common cause and I think our children’s safety is a great cause.

If you would like to order a set of SafteyCaps please go here.

George has offered to give one of my readers a free 24 pack of Safety Caps. To win please recommend SafteyCaps to The Ellen Show and Oprah. Come back here and leave a comment that you have contacted both of them.
