Bad Words

While we were eating supper tonight Brookster said she had something very very important to talk to me about that occured at school today. I love sitting down at the table with her at night because that is one of the places that she tells about her day. The other one is the bed but that is for another post. I knew she did not get in trouble because if she had we would have already been sobbing uncontrollably saying please forgive her before I oeven know what happened. She is a very good kid and very rarely gets in trouble but she is a kid. I asked "What happened at school today?" She replies "We had a sub today and you know what happened?" As we all know the class is not the best for a sub usually so I asked what happened. She looks at me with those sweet Innocent eyes and said "Vernon said a bad word today and got sent to the principals office" I asked" Did you hear him say something bad?" "Yes, he said something so bad that we all could not believe it" Here I am thinking of the really bad words that could have been said and cringing before daring to ask if she wanted to tell me what word he said. Brookster of course wanted to explain to me what he said. "He said shut up I hate you to another little boy in the class" Now I know that he should not have said that to anyone but I would not call that a bad word just a not very nice phrase. So we had a talk about what he could have said instead and she came up with leave me alone and I just dont want to talk to you. I said that was not too bad. She then said she felt much better and would tell Vernon on Monday what he should have said. That is my child the one that wants to solve all of the worlds problems. I just love being her mom.

Ice Day

Most of the time we have snow days here in Tennessee even it just barley snows. Today we had a ice day. Everything was solid ice here. I stayed home with the Brookster. We cuddled on the couch and played the Wii. She is pretty good at playing the Wii. I love staying home with her. She makes me smile just to look at her

Things we do for our kids

It is Saturday morning and instead of sleeping in we are at golf practice. See my wonderful 8 year old Brookster has decided that she is going to be the next female Tiger Woods. She is very dedicated and her golf coach says that she is doing very well. It is the middle of January and we are in the basement of the country club practicing balance and how to move our hips. If this is what she likes to do then I am going to do every thing I can to help her be the best she can be. Who knows in few more years I may have a good golfer on my hands, but one thing for sure I will always have a wonderful daughter.
